As I was working with some photos I took at Bannack Ghost Town in Bannack, Montana, the thought to try and colorize a black and white image. I decided to take a photo, turn it black and white, and then colorize it as if the image was black and white from the beginning. This past weekend I had the opportunity to go on an all day photo excursion to Bannack Ghost Town in Montana with a Communication class from Brigham Young University – Idaho. While we were there, their were a couple stations where we had models set up and we could come and go as we please to take photos. The models did an amazing job! While attending Photoshop World 2011 in Las Vegas, NV, I took photographs of the models they provided each day. This particular model I was able to get some great shots of. I loved using the lights Westcott Lighting provided at each of the booths. They were constant daylight lights. In each of these images I tried to capture some sort of emotion. I was walking around Temple Square in Salt Lake City, Utah over this Christmas season and saw these bags and thought they were really neat. I didn’t realize it at the time, but the two bags I chose to photograph both were the word “Love” in two different languages. This was a good reminder of what Christmas is about. Not only is it the celebration of the birth of our Savior, it is also the season to show our love to our fellowmen. During this past semester at BYU-Idaho, I had the opportunity to be involved in the campus Photographics Society as one of the officers. During the course of the semester we had three competitions with two categories, edited and un-edited. Each of the entered images must be taken within the semester in order to compete in the contest.
